Pine Mountain

Pine Mountain Summit trails

Wow. Just wow. I chose this trail because our Amicalola hike was rained out and the trail was impassable and to be honest, my hopes weren't very high but I'm blown away. The trail was nearly pure nature. the hike was mostly over rocks on the way up. there was no shortage of spots to stop and take a break and, even on the way up, I found myself enjoying the hike and yearning that the trail didn't meet it's end while i was hiking, but when i did reach the summit, i was blown away by the view.

this trail was difficult enough to make the northeastern ascent of Kennesaw mountain feel like a sidewalk by comparison. I also noticed that pine mountain often feels secluded, isolated, and untouched compared to places such as Kennesaw mountain. i only ever encountered one secluded dirt trail on the ascent and it genuinely felt like there was barely a trail there. the mountain was full of awesome rock formations and was a great and photographable.

I'd strongly suggest that you bring trekking poles, water, and a snack on this hike as parts of the trail can become very strenuous to hike.

see you on trail - Joe
